I had a dry mouth too at the beginning of my treatment last April. I soon got into the habit of carrying water with me, but after several months I realised I didn't need it any more. I think my mouth finally got used to having an extra thing there! I had excess saliva too and this seemed to pool ins...

I wouldn't even try it! Gum would stick. what a nightmare to clean off. The invisalign instructions say no gum for this reason, although you could pop trays out to chew. my dentist has given me 'chewies' to help bed the trays firmly; they are like little white squashy plastic tubes, so you could try...

hi Mona. Welcome to Invisalign! Each new tray for me is quite tight, although getting easier to take out as my teeth get straighter. So on the first 2 or 3 days of each tray, I try to limit the time my tray is out of my mouth, as the quicker I put it back in, the easier, as my teeth have had less ti...

good luck with your first tray, It81. you will soon settle into a routine after a few days, and after a couple of weeks you'll forget about them for most of the time :o)

hi sentience it does take a lot of courage to start with something as big and important as this, so well done for taking those first steps to book some appointments for initial consultations. I saw my invisalign provider, who is an orthodontist, 4 times before saying i was ready to go ahead - i went...

is it just me or does anyone else get spitty bubbles inside the trays? My lower tray is quite visible (I think) as my teeth are quite crooked so there is a wider expanse of plastic to be seen. I've noticed people looking at work, and I'm sure they are thinking "what's that on your teeth?" ...

hi, i too had my first 2 lower trays crack at the front, the crack was at the lower side and about 2mm long; my teeth are quite crooked so i was having to pull very hard indeed with my fingers to remove the tray. I think i was bending the tray while pulling and as soon as i noticed the crack, i took...

My orthodontist -- who is an Invisalign Premier Provider and one of the top 100 providers in the U.S. -- recommends eating with them in. The reason is simply that they work better. . lol smilesunset!! That's really interesting, do you mean they work better because you wear them nearly 24 hours? i h...

hi vanibella yes, I'm the same - very spitty insdie the tray but dry outside. sometimes it's such a relief to take the trays out and have a big drink of water. I am definately drinking more water throughout the day with invisalign. I never really feel very thirsty without but I have started carrying...

thanks everyone that's very helpful. I'll check out the other threads about eating. IO'm sure I spooted somewone on here who said they eat with them in, but I feel reassured to do as my dentist said, water only!! I did try a crisp today as an experiment. it made my trays so dirty inside, from just o...

what can you eat or drink with trays in?

my dentist told me water or white wine only! I'm on tray 4/26 and have been experimenting a bit, as I'm sure everybody does, to see what I can eat and drink. Generally I'm finding the whole experience very postitive - great to feel the pressure of a new tray as it does its work on my teeth. :D I've ...
