Hi,

I'm getting debraced in a week and was brushing my teeth today. I noticed a small cavity a little under the bracket(front tooth) while I have a fixed retainer behind these teeth. Can they do a filling with on a fixed retainer?

I had a Hawley when I was younger and didn't wear it because it felt uncomfortable on top. I am getting a Hawley again though, but I'm thinking about going to my regular dentist for an Essix retainer afterwards since everyone tells me they are more comfortable. It has been a week since I got my fixed retainers on top and bottom, and I'm adjusting to them. Now, I can't imagine my mouth without them.

So do they have to do the impressions again? I had the impressions done before the fixed retainers were placed in my mouth.

So do they take off some of the plastic from the Hawley retainer? Also, any reason why an ortho would put fixed retainers an appointment before debracing
