Re: Maeby Getting Braces

Glad you found a good ortho... makes all the difference. I too was lucky enough to find an ortho that would let me keep my teeth and was willing to see if my impacted canines would come in...at the age of 27 at the time. Everything worked well.. canines came in with the gold chain traction without a...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

I can't believe it's so popular to get canines exposed that you have a whole group on here now. Cool. I was finished in 2005. I wear my retainers occasionally (maybe once a month) now. I had to get a strange wraparound retainer to keep the typical one from pushing my canines back up, but at least di...

Long time!

Haha, I searched for my nickname, and found this website again! It seems like so long ago since I had braces (2005). Definitely worth the journey, including the canine exposure.

Wow, Joplin... surprised to see you still on here. I was afraid I wouldn't recognize many folks, but there are still several!

Hope all is well with you and you finally get out of those braces soon!

Well, if she's already hinted at it as a possibility, you might have a conversation along the lines of "I remember you mentioning ..." and "I'm absolutely willing to go ahead with that, but it would be better for me if we could schedule it to fall over my Easter break". Sounds g...

That was just about where mine was when they had to do the 2nd exposure.... I think you're headed that direction. See, here is where they put the buttons on just DAYS after the exposure surgery that leaves the teeth uncovered: http://www.ourchurch-graphics.com/member/w/whiteley/Junefront.jpg But, on...

Yeah, when I had my canines exposed... first I had them pulled down via chain.... when I got to the last link of the chain, the teeth were still hidden, so we did the exposure surgery to remove some gum/bone and attach a button directly to the teeth (not enough room for a bracket at first). That but...

Well, here it is a couple of years later, and I'm still doing okay. My right canine went up a smidgeon.. maybe 1mm or so. No one notices, so I'm not worried about it. I rarely wear my retainers... just when I happen to see them in the medicine cabinet. Since the braces have been off, I've had my fir...

braced6226, I had my braces removed just a few months after the teeth came down into their place... they had to be aligned a bit, needed a bit of elastics, but only took 3-4 months, because the rest of the teeth were already set from being in braces those years.
