archwires don't have to be straight. The doc will put little bends in the wire to get certain teeth to do what he wants them to do.

a lot of my top brackets in the back were really close to my gumline and it was irritating. They had to be placed there for a reason, and I used Listerine and it helped a lot. Flossing will also help to a point. When the braces came off, the gums were really soft and irritated, but after a few days ...

hmmmmm... sounds a little fishy to me, too. I have two sets of retainers, one hawley and one essix... the essix for daytime and the hawley for nighttime... and they were both free of charge! I also get retainer checks every 10 weeks or so for the first year and then sporadically after that. I wouldn...

Hi, I can tell you that I was worried about the same thing. Especially because I am a musician and I was afraid the instrument would make my teeth moved. I went naked for 2 days before they gave me my temp essix retainers and I can tell you that they were tight even after 2 days. Maybe your ortho ca...

tdc, i don't know what you have in store as far as retainers go, but I can tell you that I had a similar problem. one of my bottom teeth was jutting out just a hair more than the others. I asked the ortho and he didn't seem concerned at all. Turns out that he has me in a special retainer called a sp...

Its in my www I have been having speech problems and he told me to put on my temporary retainers that I got when my braces came off until he can see me, but they don't fit anymore! :) Springs must be doing their thing! Hi Alexa! :) Thanks. I like them too. I'm not crazy about having the clear plastic over the wires though. I was looking forward to having nearly naked teeth and now they are hiding behind clear acrylic. :? Not sure what is going to happen to me- I heard the doc and tech talking about taking another ...

Hi Dr. Jones. :) Thanks. I don't have a tongue thrust issue. I do have a bite plane built into my retainer to open my bite more though. I was thinking the metal things was more of a shock absorber for my bite...lol. Funny what the imagination can do. My bottom retainer is really loose.... I am told ...

HI Payoki. :) I just got my retainers today. The acrylic plate is thick and I can't talk worth a damn. It's frustrating. As much as I want to take the thing out, I keep telling myself that in a week or so, I'll talk OK, or close to it....lol. Hang in there. I am supposed to wear these 24/7 until my ...

Hi Dr. Jones. :)

Just a quick question. What the heck does that metal thing in the middle of my acrylic plate do? Thanks. :)
