You're definitely looking better. It's great that you can eat more now. It will help your strength and energy levels.

I had a tube put in after they knocked me out. It was removed before I woke up, in fact, if it weren't for my sore throat, I would not have known that I had one at all. No catheter was needed in my case because the surgery was less than two hours. But they do make sure you can urinate before you can...

Good for you for standing up for yourself Clo. At least you won't let them give up on you yet.
I hope the intrusion works and you get a normal bite again.

What a way to ring in the new year Graceful! I'm glad to hear you're doing well and moving around. Muscle tightness seems to be common after surgery, but it will pass soon enough. I can relate to the smiling problem. It was difficult for me because of the stitches under my lip, so it looked and felt...

With your job I would definitely take at least three weeks off. I was back at work full time (in an office) after two weeks and was exhausted by the end of the day.

It may help the tooth move back if your essix retainer is made of a thicker, less flexible material.

I do know that Hawley retainers can be adjusted to move teeth when small adjustments are needed.

As an adult who has had to pay for braces and surgery myself, I'd have to say it was worth it. By correcting my bite I'm able to avoid dentures, bridges, or other costly dental work. Think of it this way; foot binding takes away the ability to walk functionally, while having braces gives you the abi...

That's a wonderfully detailed description. Thank you for sharing your experience. I can't believe you're working out already! I don't think I had the energy for that at two weeks. Having zero numbness has got to be the best part of IVRO. The last four weeks of being wired shut will fly by. After all...

Five months out and my upper gums and palate are partially numb too. My surgeon said it could take up to a year for those nerves to recover.

Ah those photos take me back... Ice will feel good, even if it does nothing for swelling. Everyone is different, but i'll bet that your drooling will improve once your swelling goes down. Your poor lips look sore. I used comfrey root and leaves (found at health food stores) boiled in water and appli...

I had both BSSO and Lefort in August to correct a gummy smile, overjet and slight open bite.

I love the results. Seriously, for me it was worth any temporary discomfort that I felt. I wish that I had it done years ago. :D
