No extractions for me. I actually have just a tiny bit of crowding on my uppers that only affected my left lateral incisor. On my bottoms I am missing 3 teeth (bicuspids and a premolar). I am actually going to have to get implants when the treatment is done.

double chained? wow! i have never heard of that before. do you mind sharing what the thought process is on doubling? what are you guys trying to achieve? just curious;)

thank you to those that replied to my post ... i feel some relief. I guess it's true I have never seen anyone who had braces with uneven teeth - i guess it would have been pointless if uneveness is not addressed when more major things are .

Chains do hurt, as I have a powerchain on bottom. The pain I felt after it was put on was much worse than a normal adjustment for me - but the results sure came a lot faster. The assistant at my ortho's practice told me that gum can help you adjust especially after each adjustments, but, it has to be sugar free. I was never a gum fan before braces and I definitely have not tried gum and braces since I got my braces on but I guess if it doesn't bother you, go for it!

I'm sorry you have had such a bad experience. I hope that you finally find a treatment plan that works. You hang in there;)
